NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY
Starkey Hearing Foundation & American Society for Deaf Children
Delta Zeta’s National Philanthropy is Hearing & Speech.
Our two partnerships are the Starkey Hearing Foundation (with a focus on Starkey Hearing Institute) & American Society for Deaf Children.
The Starkey Hearing Foundation gives the gift of hearing to those in need by providing hearing aids throughout the United States and around the world.
When families join the American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) & pay the $35 fee, they receive five 30-minute sessions with deaf adults. They host American Sign Language (ASL) weekends around the country where they bring in deaf experts to teach ASL to parents and deaf children. ASDC's dream is to create a Sesame Street style show in ASL to help young deaf children become kindergarten ready.
LOCAL PHILANTHROPY
Safe Berks
Our Local Philanthropy here at Kutztown is Safe Berks. Safe Berks is a center that acts as a safe haven for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The center strives to increase awareness and put an end to abuse.
